The Secret to the Journey to Health: Love Yourself

True change comes from a place of love - a love of self. The Secret to the Journey to Health is learning to love ourselves. 

 Having recently read the amazing book You Can Heal Your Life by Louise Hay, I've found so many things that resonate on this Journey to Health and being a health coach. This latest art journal entry is an illustration about loving myself on this journey to health. 

 I have long known that the weight is not about the food and the exercise as much as it is about the mindset. 

 Our self loathing, lack of love for who we are, and our actions are what truly keep us on the continuing cycle to gaining and losing the pounds. We carry our extra weight as a shield of armor, protecting us from facing ourselves, dealing with our issues, and finding peace of mind versus looking at ourselves with lovingkindness and forgiveness. 

 The simple act of looking in the mirror and saying "I Love You" can be one of the most difficult tasks for someone who is constantly criticizing, second guessing, and loathing their actions taken on a daily basis. But it can be the most powerful action to move us in a different direction toward solving the problem of an unhealthy lifestyle. 

 "Loving ourselves works miracles in our lives."
"Love is the miracle cure."
"A great respect for ourselves and a gratitude for the miracle of our bodies and our minds" are just a few of the phrases Louise Hay shares with us. 

 See yourself smiling and happy every day. 
Tell yourself, "I love and accept you just as you are."
An appreciation that fills our heart to overflowing... an abundance is available to us always.

 Try looking into the mirror the next time your pass by... Say "I Love You" and tell yourself all the things you've been waiting to hear from yourself. Say it often and repeat it daily. And begin to heal your body and lose the pounds of armor that surround you. 

 Love Yourself. Two of the most powerful words you can learn toward the Journey to Health.

Loving ourselves can be hard too! It actually takes work to look past a person's faults, and that includes our own.
Hey, I was looking for how to follow your blog, and I didn't see any option, no "follow by email" gadget, no "google friend connect", and no "follow on Google+". Did I miss it, or do you just prefer not to have that option?

I feel that if I wasn't able to look and mirror and say, "I LoVe you," I wouldn't be able to look in anyone's eyes (another mirror!) and say it. :)

I am Alecia Maldonado used every single spell worker on the internet, spent untold amounts of money and discovered they are all fakes...i was the fool though; doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.
